Carl Linnaeus's Birth Chart

Sun in Gemini · Moon in Aquarius

Carl Linnaeus, also known after ennoblement in 1761 as Carl von Linné, was a Swedish biologist and physician who formalised binomial nomenclature, the modern system of naming organisms. He is known as the "father of modern taxonomy". Many of his writings were in Latin; his name is rendered in Latin as Carolus Linnæus and, after his 1761 ennoblement, as Carolus a Linné. Wikipedia

Section I · The core

The two luminaries

Two lights set the tone of the whole chart: the Sun, the identity; the Moon, the emotional world.

Carl Linnaeus's Sun, in Gemini

Your identity lives in curiosity: you are bridge, translator, permanent question. It unfolds through versatility, movement and the play of ideas. You need to explore, build bridges, ask questions and connect concepts in order to understand the world.

Carl Linnaeus's Moon, in Aquarius

You feel with a certain panoramic distance: you need freedom even inside affection. You process emotions with objective detachment and a need for personal space. Your comfort lies in mental freedom, authenticity without labels and the complicity of groups.

Section II · The map

Their natal wheel

The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.

Planets and aspects

The exact numbers behind the drawing. Each table expands one layer of the wheel.

Carl Linnaeus's placements

We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.

Carl Linnaeus's aspects

Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.

Section IV · The signature

The signature of their sky

The whole at a glance: how the planets are spread, and the accents that set the overall tone of the chart.

Chart shape

Bucket

A group of planets with a single one opposite: that 'handle' planet becomes the channel of the whole chart.

Dominants

Their energy concentrates in the element of Fire and the Fixed modality.

Traits

Jupiter is the most connected planet in their chart: 7 aspects tie it to the rest.

Patterns
StelliumJupiter · Uranus · Pluto

Three or more planets together in Leo: a strongly marked focus of energy in that area.

T-squareMoon · Uranus · Mercury

An opposition with a third planet square to both: the chart's engine of tension and achievement.
