Enrico Fermi's Birth Chart
Sun in Libra · Moon in Aries ≈
Enrico Fermi was an Italian-American physicist, renowned for being the creator of the world's first artificial nuclear reactor, Chicago Pile-1, and a member of the Manhattan Project. He won the 1938 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his demonstrations of the existence of new radioactive elements produced by neutron irradiation, and for his related discovery of nuclear reactions brought about by slow neutrons". He has been called the "architect of the nuclear age" and the "architect of the atomic bomb". He was one of very few physicists to excel in both theoretical and experimental physics. With his colleagues, Fermi filed several patents related to the use of nuclear power, all of which were taken over by the US government. He made significant contributions to the development of statistical mechanics, quantum theory, and nuclear and particle physics. Wikipedia
Section I · The core
The two luminaries
Two lights set the tone of the whole chart: the Sun, the identity; the Moon, the emotional world.
Enrico Fermi's Sun, in Libra
Your identity seeks balance and harmony: beauty, fair agreement and the art of being in relationship. Your purpose flourishes when you build bridges, weigh nuances and look for the right balance in relationships.
Enrico Fermi's Moon, in Aries
You feel in flares: fast, honest, direct emotions that ask for an immediate response and forgive quickly. Your refuge is autonomy and your ability to heal conflict fast.
Without an exact birth time, the Moon could fall in the neighbouring sign: it changed sign that day.
Section II · The map
Their natal wheel
The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.
Section III · The detail
Planets and aspects
The exact numbers behind the drawing. Each table expands one layer of the wheel.
Enrico Fermi's placements
We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.
| Planet | Sign | Degree |
|---|---|---|
| Sun | Libra | 5°38′ |
| Moon | Aries | 23°17′ |
| Mercury | Libra | 27°44′ |
| Venus | Scorpio | 14°19′ |
| Mars | Scorpio | 19°24′ |
| Jupiter | Capricorn | 4°35′ |
| Saturn | Capricorn | 9°58′ |
| Uranus | Sagittarius | 13°29′ |
| Neptune | Cancer | 1°29′ |
| Pluto | Gemini ℞ | 18°41′ |
Enrico Fermi's aspects
Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.
Elements and modalities
How their energy is split across the four elements and the three modalities.
Section IV · The signature
The signature of their sky
The whole at a glance: how the planets are spread, and the accents that set the overall tone of the chart.
Seesaw
Your planets gather in two opposite groups: you live in the push and pull between them.
Their energy concentrates in the element of Air and the Cardinal modality.
Chiron is the most connected planet in their chart: 5 aspects tie it to the rest.
An opposition with a third planet square to both: the chart's engine of tension and achievement.
