Linus Pauling's Birth Chart
Sun in Pisces · Moon in Cancer
Linus Carl Pauling was an American chemist and peace activist. He published more than 1,200 papers and books, of which about 850 dealt with scientific topics. Scientific American called him one of the 20 greatest scientists of all time. For his scientific work, Pauling was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1954. For his peace activism, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962. He is one of five people to have won more than one Nobel Prize. Sun in Pisces
9°14′Your core is compassion and sensitivity: dissolving boundaries, imagining, feeling the world as a single fabric. At your centre live resonance, empathy and a connection with the invisible. Your purpose is to dissolve rigid boundaries so as to bring compassion, art and spirituality into your life.
Moon in Cancer
13°00′You have deep intuition and a very rich emotional world, a profound sensitivity that registers everything and needs a den to process it: your natural refuge is home, intimacy and the bonds that make you feel safe and among family.
Birth time not documented
The Ascendant changes sign every two hours, and no verified birth time is recorded for Linus Pauling, so this chart doesn't set it. Their planets by sign, however, remain reliable.
Section II · The map
Their natal wheel
The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.
Section III · The detail
Planets and aspects
The exact numbers behind the drawing. Each table expands one layer of the wheel.
Linus Pauling's placements
We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.

Beyond the planets
Three keys beyond the ten classical planets, which astrology reads as axes of the chart. All four angles need your birth time.
The wounded healer: a small icy body between Saturn and Uranus. It marks the wound that, once moved through, teaches.
Not a body but a point of the Moon's orbit. It marks the direction of your growth.
The Black Moon: a mathematical point tied to the untamed and what refuses to submit.
Linus Pauling's aspects
Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.
Elements and modalities
How their energy is split across the four elements and the three modalities.
Section IV · The signature
The signature of their sky
The whole at a glance: how the planets are spread, and the accents that set the overall tone of the chart.
Seesaw
Your planets gather in two opposite groups: you live in the push and pull between them.
Their energy concentrates in the element of Earth and the Mutable modality.
Moon is the most connected planet in their chart: 7 aspects tie it to the rest.
An opposition with a third planet square to both: the chart's engine of tension and achievement.
