Sir Robert Geoffrey Edwards was a British physiologist and pioneer in reproductive medicine, and in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) in particular. Along with obstetrician and gynaecologist Patrick Steptoe and nurse and embryologist Jean Purdy, Edwards successfully pioneered conception through IVF, which led to the birth of Louise Brown on 25 July 1978. They founded the first IVF programme for infertile patients and trained other scientists in their techniques. Edwards was the founding editor-in-chief of Human Reproduction in 1986. In 2010, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for the development of in vitro fertilization". Wikipedia

The threshold · Ascendant

Birth time not documented

The Ascendant changes sign every two hours, and no verified birth time is recorded for Robert Edwards, so this chart doesn't set it. Their planets by sign, however, remain reliable.

Section II · The map

Their natal wheel

The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.

Robert Edwards's placements

We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.

Beyond the planets

Three keys beyond the ten classical planets, which astrology reads as axes of the chart. All four angles need your birth time.

Chiron27°04 Aries

The wounded healer: a small icy body between Saturn and Uranus. It marks the wound that, once moved through, teaches.

North Node2°49 Leo

Not a body but a point of the Moon's orbit. It marks the direction of your growth.

Lilith1°38 Leo

The Black Moon: a mathematical point tied to the untamed and what refuses to submit.

Robert Edwards's aspects

Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.
