Lewis Carroll's Birth Chart

Sun in Aquarius · Moon in Sagittarius

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician, photographer, and reluctant Anglican deacon. His most notable works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871), some of the most important examples of Victorian literature. He was noted for his facility with word play, logic, and fantasy. His poems Jabberwocky (1871) and The Hunting of the Snark (1876) are classified in the genre of literary nonsense. Some of Alice's nonsensical wonderland logic reflects his published work on mathematical logic. Wikipedia

Section I · The core

The two luminaries

Two lights set the tone of the whole chart: the Sun, the identity; the Moon, the emotional world.

Lewis Carroll's Sun, in Aquarius

Your identity is vision: thinking differently, belonging to the future and to the tribe of the awake. It asserts itself through singularity, free thought and a vision of the future. You need to contribute your genuine perspective, break outdated patterns and connect with the collective consciousness.

Lewis Carroll's Moon, in Sagittarius

Your spirits need air and future: movement, laughter and a good reason to believe restore you. You find emotional refuge in freedom, optimism and a wide perspective. You heal your emotions when you manage to see the whole picture and draw a life lesson from each experience.

Section II · The map

Their natal wheel

The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.

The exact numbers behind the drawing. Each table expands one layer of the wheel.

Lewis Carroll's placements

We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.

Lewis Carroll's aspects

Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.

Section IV · The signature

The signature of their sky

The whole at a glance: how the planets are spread, and the accents that set the overall tone of the chart.

Chart shape

Bucket

A group of planets with a single one opposite: that 'handle' planet becomes the channel of the whole chart.

Dominants

Their energy concentrates in the element of Fire and the Mutable modality.

Traits

Sun is the most connected planet in their chart: 5 aspects tie it to the rest.

Neptune forms no aspects: it expresses its energy with total independence.
