Ernst Haeckel's Birth Chart
Sun in Aquarius · Moon in Taurus
Ernst Heinrich Philipp August Haeckel was a German zoologist, naturalist, eugenicist, philosopher, physician, professor, marine biologist and artist. He discovered, described and named thousands of new species, mapped a genealogical tree relating all life forms and coined many terms in biology, including ecology, phylum, phylogeny, ontogeny, and Protista. Haeckel promoted and popularised Charles Darwin's work in Germany and developed the disproven but influential recapitulation theory, later generalizing it into the so called "Biogenetic Law". He wrongly claimed that an individual organism's biological development, or ontogeny, parallels and summarizes its species' evolutionary development, or phylogeny, using incorrectly drawn images of human embryonic development to derive the law. Whether they were intentionally falsified, or drawn poorly by accident is a matter of debate. Wikipedia
Section I · The core
The two luminaries
Two lights set the tone of the whole chart: the Sun, the identity; the Moon, the emotional world.
Ernst Haeckel's Sun, in Aquarius
Your identity is vision: thinking differently, belonging to the future and to the tribe of the awake. It asserts itself through singularity, free thought and a vision of the future. You need to contribute your genuine perspective, break outdated patterns and connect with the collective consciousness.
Ernst Haeckel's Moon, in Taurus
Your emotional calm needs solid ground: routines, stability, physical comfort, body, nature and bonds that don't wobble. You nourish and are nourished through simple sensory pleasure, patience and the certainty of what is firm.
Section II · The map
Their natal wheel
The sky on the day they were born. The outer ring is the twelve signs; the lines across the centre, the aspects between planets. Without a birth time, houses and the Ascendant aren't drawn.
Section III · The detail
Planets and aspects
The exact numbers behind the drawing. Each table expands one layer of the wheel.
Ernst Haeckel's placements
We compute the placements for the day of birth. Without the exact time the Ascendant and houses can't be fixed, but each planet's sign is reliable.
| Planet | Sign | Degree |
|---|---|---|
| Sun | Aquarius | 27°24′ |
| Moon | Taurus | 22°48′ |
| Mercury | Aquarius | 29°49′ |
| Venus | Aquarius | 22°35′ |
| Mars | Capricorn | 26°57′ |
| Jupiter | Taurus | 0°49′ |
| Saturn | Libra ℞ | 10°07′ |
| Uranus | Aquarius | 22°49′ |
| Neptune | Aquarius | 0°07′ |
| Pluto | Aries | 11°15′ |
Ernst Haeckel's aspects
Each aspect is an angle between two planets; it defines how they speak to each other. Aspects to the Moon are approximate: they depend on the exact birth time.
Elements and modalities
How their energy is split across the four elements and the three modalities.
Section IV · The signature
The signature of their sky
The whole at a glance: how the planets are spread, and the accents that set the overall tone of the chart.
Bucket
A group of planets with a single one opposite: that 'handle' planet becomes the channel of the whole chart.
Their energy concentrates in the element of Air and the Fixed modality.
Moon is the most connected planet in their chart: 8 aspects tie it to the rest.
Three or more planets together in Aquarius: a strongly marked focus of energy in that area.
